Monday Morning All Over Again!
Well, it’s Monday all over again. Mondays for me are probably different than Mondays for most of you, and I really kind of like them! Monday is a work day, but not a day I have to go in as early or work as structured as most of my other days. I can work a more leisurely pace, and things are much less formal than the rest of the week. Sounds good, huh? But, there’s an interesting thing I’ve noticed about Mondays–I sometimes don’t get anywhere near as much done as I do on those other, more structured days of the week.
I’ve often thought about why it is that I don’t seem to be as productive on Mondays, and I think it is because I am not as accountable and structured as I need to be. Wasting a minute or two here, by glancing at a TV show before I head out the door, or having one more leisurely cup of coffee, or stopping by a business on my way somewhere, they really all add up to lots of wasted, unproductive time!
It can be exactly the same way with workouts and diet too. If I am not writing everything down that goes in my mouth, I certainly don’t see the same kind of results during a challenge if I do. If I’m not keeping exact track of the time between sets during a workout, I find myself sitting there on that bench longer and longer, well after I have caught my breath. It’s not that I’m not getting things done–just that I’m not getting them done with the intensity, productivity and efficiency that I ought to be!
And when those things get off track, my whole routine and my whole enjoyment of life tend to suffer a bit for it. Free day is a model of what total inefficiency can look like! I certainly want to be a better steward the rest of the week of the one resource that is given to us all and can never be reused, reclaimed or relived–our time!
So, enough of this writing. Time to get to work!

Mike…it is SO funny. I was really BEING wasteful and unaccountable to myself with my time for the past 7 days! I wanted to kick myself in the rear…and I thought, “Hey, go to Mike’s website and see if you can find a good blog to help you.”
Low and behold, the first blog on the page was JUST what I needed to hear! Thank you truly! I am going to post this over on GB, too!
