Hi Mike,

There's a really great book about this called "Taming your Gremlins". It has some great exercises for people to use to become aware of just how much negative self talk they do throughout the day. When I first was becoming aware of my mental tape, I was SHOCKED at how mean I was to myself. I am not a mean person, but when it came to me and my own internal self talk I was a bully...and not a nice one either. Now I am aware, and in order for me to break down some of the negative self talk, I had to create daily mantras that I would repeat to myself as many times as I could remember to think of them...I've learned to be kinder to myself, and to look at what was True rather than what had become the 'norm'

Hello. This is kind of an "unconventional" question , but have other visitors asked you how get the menu bar to look like you've got it? I also have a blog and am really looking to alter around the theme, however am scared to death to mess with it for fear of the search engines punishing me. I am very new to all of this ...so i am just not positive exactly how to try to to it all yet. I'll just keep working on it one day at a time Thanks for any help you can offer here.

Wow Mike, once again - you should write a book! You know, I think I may have read "skimmed" this very early in the trek, didn't really get it back then, but without realising it, I did the "inner searching" triggered by my situation - you are so right, so many things deep inside we either bury of chose to ignore - 2009 was a great year for me even though the end was tough, it was a great year - thanks for all your posts, emails and insights - you really are a true "champion" Mike, through and through.
Well said Mike-and it goes right along with my favorite quote:
"To be great is not to be higher than another, but to lift another higher."

Thank-you for reminding me of what it means to truly be transformed.

I just started reading the BFL GB and "found" your site. This posting on adversity has my name all over it. I have Crohn's Disease. You mention that if all else fails, you can at least eat right. Well, that's my challenge every day. What is considered "healthy food" is typically my enemy. BUT after a very tough year with my own health issues and the death of my brother, I am ready to welcome adversity once again. I need to finally finish a 12-week challenge. I need to prove to myself I can overcome the obstacles. I really enjoy what you've written and will continue to visit the GB on BFL as well. Thank you!

Yes! Changing our mindset and focusing on repeating the behavior one day at a time, is the ONLY way we will get the BFL results we want (and keep them)! BFL goes way beyond our body -
it is about changing our life and giving back to others! Thank you Mike
